Shower the Baby

What a wonderful time I had. My friend Hilarie threw me a shower in Cali before I leave! It was so awesome and since we don't know the sex of the baby yet, we made it a baby shower/bon voyage party & the theme was French! I loved it! Beautiful french music in the background, french art, eiffel tower, decadent desserts, champagne (& Martinellis for me), tea, lovely!

I had so much fun haning with some of my great friends! Mom and grandma Joyce were there, which I was so excited about. I recieved so many great gifts for the baby! Things I really really needed! Things like a Diaper Genie, a diaper bag, books, recieving blankets, burp clothes, pacifiers, baby wash, medical kit, toys, clothes, a boppy, and 2 airline tickets!!!! Yeah, My friend Hilarie, not only threw us an amazing shower, but also gifted us two buddy-passes to come back to CA when the baby is born!!!
I loved being with my friends and hearing motherhood stories. I feel very blessed with all of these women in my life. I will miss them all so much & be calling them very often for advice & to just cry. hehe. Here are some pictures:

A Quickie

Alright, so I told all my friends about my blog & then got complaints that I never update it. lol. Which is... well true. I guess it takes a backseat to myspace, facebook, packing & hanging with friends. BUT no more, well... I mean I'll make time for it.
I had my Cali baby shower, which was a blast, but I'm waiting for some pictures from the hostess, Hilarie, before blogging about it.
I said goodbye to my first friend the other day, Janet. It sucks, but I know I'll keep in touch with her & I'm moving closer to her family so I'll likely see her a few times a year. This move still does not seem real and it's about a week away. Then bye to everyone. At least until next summer-ish. (i'm saving more info on that for the baby shower blog, hehe)
I don't have any regrets about moving though, as hard as it will be I think this will be a growing experience for me & Corey.
Ok, well... I said this was going to be a quickie, so bye! I need to pack some more.

11 weeks

Really, I'm this far behind, I thought I would be blogging on here everyday & would look back and wonder why I wasted this much time. lol.

Well... two weeks ago, I had my first ultrasound! I saw the babe & I think he/she will play soccer. Baby was all curled up at first and then started jumping up sporatically, and next thing I knew it's tiny little legs were giving out big kicks. Unbelievable. I can't feel this little human in me, but it's going crazy. I know this sounds obvious, but when I saw the baby moving & couldn't feel it, I was made keenly aware of the fact that this is a person, seperate from me & corey. You always think and hear that the baby is the two of you, that it's your little baby. It's not. It's Gods & it is its own person. duh, right? lol. Just a funny little awakening to the true life of being a parent I guess. Well, the ultrasound technician was really awesome and nice. He said next time (although it wont be at the same hospital) we could bring a thumb-drive and they should be able to let us take ALL the pictures & videos home & put them right up to our computer. Awesome. Hope my next doctor will let us too.

Ok... so last week was my first doctor appointment. I had a wierd doctor, who seemed new. He didn't really know how things went, even though he was older. His technician even said at one point "I'm going to get you into a routine & fast". She had to remind him what to do. Anyways, I got to have another ultrasound of the baby, because they could not find the heartbeat with the doppler. I didn't get to hear the heartbeat though, because the doctor couldn't work it & was really behind schedule. Oh well. I have another appointment right before we move. It's with a different doctor, my neighbor has her and says she's really nice.

Other than that, my morning sickness is weaning, yaye (oh yeah, it started about 8 or 9 weeks).

My shower is this Saturday, so excited to have all my girlfriends together. I'm so going to cry. lol

Corey is still being the most amazing man in creation, haha. He's been taking very good care of me.

One more month and we leave CA for SC. sad and exciting times ahead.

9-week thoughts

I'm 9 weeks. My pants are getting tighter. I wonder if it's the baby, gas, or weight gain-age (can I invent a word). I've been eating pretty healthy, if anything I've been eating too little, so I'm trying not to care.

Two more days until I get to see little baby. Right now, the babe is about an inch and has most of it's organs (some have to develop further).

Everyone asks us what we think we're having, I have no idea of course (how could anyone?) We would be blessed with either sex, but for some reason I say I think it's a boy. Hilarious, then some people say something like "no, I was thinking a girl" lol.

embarassing & fun

Ok, so here it is, my 5 week belly picture. This is what I looked like when I started, kind of. Just to let you know though, I had been drinking lots of water & well... I was constipated. Okay it's not pretty at all to talk about constipation, but it apparently is a symptom of pregnancy everyone thought they'd leave out.

Now I'm 6 1/2 weeks, but I wont be posting every weeks picture, maybe every month.

I'm feeling great otherwise. Getting more tired throughout the day. I haven't experienced much nausea, only if I go awhile between meals/snacks & even then it's just intense hunger when I wasn't expecting it. My food joys lately are french fries (especially BK) and Frank's Red Hot Sauce. The only food aversion is soy sauce. Corey doused his rice with it the other day and the smell YUCK & when he tried to kiss me... well let's just say he had drink lots of water to get the smell off his breath.

Corey has been so sweet. He's back on day shift and has taken me on lots of dates. We have so much fun. The other day was his first diaper change (a big poopy one) with Gabe. We have several couple friends who've just had babies, they are letting us get more comfortable with newborns. Everytime we are around babies or kids Corey plays with them & wants to hold them. My heart is going to explode!

We had some great friends suprise us with congratulation gifts. Joey and Korinne Hoh gifted us a cute pail with a book and a camera toy for the baby & some awesome cookies for us (I ate them all). Our bible study friends gifted us a basket full of baby goodies (a blanket, baby "uggs", onesies, a girafee, and newborn diapers). Janet Moon bought the baby blanket I've been eyeing at Target forever, luckily she snagged it right before it was discontinued! Michelle Warren gave me a whole bunch of maternity clothes (which are pricey, btw), which was good because I needed a bigger pair of shorts already (see first paragraph). Brittney Relik gave us a cute bath linen set, a mobile and some baby bottles!
OH! My friends, Hilarie & Veronica, are throwing me a baby shower before I leave! I'm thrilled because I wanted to celebrate with my dearest friends & family here. I was going to come back in November, but Hilarie made 2 good points, that it's expensive and what if I can't for whatever reason. So, I started a registry at Target and Babies-R-us, but apparently they re-do all the inventory & discontinue things in July, so I'll finish it in August. I'm going to have to take a mom with me, because I realized how clueless I am when it comes to actually choosing things.
I had my orientation & had tons of blood drawn. I got some helpful literature & DVD's. I have my first ultrasound on Aug 8th & first doctor appt. Aug 14th. That's it for now.

Corey is reenlisted!

Yesterday Corey had his swear-in for reenlistment. He signed up for another 5 years (because he started the process early so we could move, he still has over 6 months left on his current enlistment so the max he could sign up for was 5 this time) & at this point we are pretty sure he is going to retire AF.

Corey plans to start college classes when we move to Shaw AFB. He's thinking of getting his CCAF (community college of the Air Force). He hopes he will find something he really likes to study that he can get a degree in.

Yaye!

It happened! I am officially knocked up! wahoo! We are so very excited. This is such a huge blessing from God, he was faithful to keep encouraging us and giving us faith and trust in Him. I am so thankful that God has bestowed this blessing on us. AHHHH! I can't even explain how exciting this is.
I took the home test on Friday and today we took the blood test at the hospital. In a few weeks I go to the hospital for a sort of orientation (basically they tell us how to be healthy and all that), there I get more blood work done, find out more precisely when my due date will be (as the internet calculator told me the estimated due date in March 6, 2009), and schedule my first docotor appointment.
I think I'm on my 5th week and the baby is the size of a poppy seed. Although it is very small, I'm already feeling tired in the afternoons. Luckily my life affords me time to nap, but I still feel pretty unproductive if I have things to do and just take a nap. I'm trying to remember that my body needs the rest.
I'm trying to make sure I eat all my fruits and veggies everyday. I'm going to a farmer's market tomorrow, yum! I have been jogging lately, so I am going to keep up with that. I really want to have a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy. I'm so excited.
So, I will totally keep everyone up to date through here and myspace and I'm sure a LOT of phone calls, lol. Thank you so much for everyone who has prayed for us!
